Every word carries potency, as does every thought. We know this from our experiences when we use them. In fact, everything in this universe possesses some form of influence—each element, through its structure or function, has an inherent power that affects us in various ways.
These influences differ not only in intensity but also in their fundamental nature. Consider the role of a mother, whose influence differs distinctly from that of a father. Our peace and happiness in life stem from truly understanding the people and forces with which we interact. The depth of this understanding comes from recognizing the nature and intensity of their influence—essentially, appreciating the value they carry and impart.
This level of awareness requires understanding what it takes to be that person or thing, a process made possible through what we might call “dismantling,” “differentiation,” and “distillation.” We activate this process by establishing rituals or practices focused on specific people (based on their significant roles), forces, divinities, and elements.
When we engage in such practices, we begin to recognize the power these entities wield. It’s comparable to understanding a car’s power by studying its component parts. Those who neglect these practices often learn their importance the hard way—when they themselves assume roles they previously undervalued, through age and life events.
The concept of the seven debts in Sanatana Dharma has a profound logical foundation. The understanding we develop about the value of the people and forces in our lives resonates with our states of consciousness. Through this process of analysis, as we delve deeper, we begin to perceive commonalities among seemingly different elements.
This “degree of oneness” defines the frequency of our understanding. The more unity we perceive, the deeper our comprehension and the higher our state of consciousness. This journey culminates in recognizing that creator and creation are one—the state of highest self-realization. This realization also manifests as perfect harmony with nature (the universe), a concept central to Ayurvedic principles for optimal health.
