Life works exactly like the role of a traffic police officer. The kind of vehicles that come and go (resources), the number of vehicles that pass through (abundance), the occasional collision (conflicts), the condition of roads (quality of circumstances), and sudden entry of cows (unexpected turns)—none of these variables remain within our control.
All one can truly do is responsibly manage the traffic on a continuous basis, responding to these ever-changing variables as they present themselves moment by moment. Hence, awareness of what is changing and timely intervention become the cornerstones upon which our life journey progresses.
If one spends excessive time contemplating the vehicular movements of the past—analyzing what should have happened or what could have been—things inevitably spiral out of control in the present moment. One must discharge one’s responsibility by fully inhabiting the present.
Vedic astrology certainly offers assistance by providing a forecast of potential traffic situations that may arise in the future, yet it cannot exempt us from the necessity of present-moment regulation. Whatever comes or goes, our fundamental task remains unchanged throughout life’s journey.
Just as a traffic officer arrives at their post equipped with nothing but a whistle and departs with that same whistle at day’s end, we too navigate life with limited tools at our disposal. The wisdom lies in using this metaphorical whistle with good discernment—knowing when to stop, when to proceed, when to redirect—to effectively regulate the countless experiences, relationships, and circumstances that flow through the intersection of our lives.
This perspective offers both humility and empowerment: while we cannot control what enters our life’s crossroads, we maintain the authority to direct how these elements interact within the space we oversee. In this delicate balance between acceptance and action lies the art of skillful living.
