The future generation of AI devices should be humanoid androids exhibiting complex emotions such as empathy and faith. Remember the movie Enthiran? A technology best suited for this evolution would not be one of neural networks or silicon but rather drawn from the transcendental mantras of the Vedas.
There exists a well-established methodology of invoking devatas (divine beings) through mantras. These same devatas reside within all of us, manifesting in various layers of our mind, intellect, and sense organs. Vedic astrology establishes the synchronous connection between these inner divine energies and the celestial bodies that move through our cosmos. While astrological observations reveal with indubitable clarity the presence of various character traits within us, the astrological body of knowledge also lays profound emphasis on the framework of time and the fundamental purpose of life itself.
Observations and interpretations within this framework are thus dynamic for two essential reasons: first, through time itself (functioning as a causative force), and second, through an individual’s conscious connection with one’s real nature—the divine essence that transcends our temporal existence. This highlights the beautiful confluence of forces which work in seemingly opposite ways: the force of concretization that arrives at the specific nature of a trait, and the force of abstraction that dissolves the very same identified trait into the universal, undifferentiating essence of spirit.
Both forces are essential for a meaningful life—the finer use of material Tamas (inertia, stability) for experience and the inclusiveness that transmutes this experience toward everything else as Sattva (purity, illumination) in the abstract divine. Thus, while astrological observation may clearly indicate the presence of harshness in speech in a person as the karmic litmus result from planetary positions, it simultaneously indicates the corresponding devata one must invoke to remedy this imbalance—perhaps Mercury to bring sweetness in speech.
On the occasion of Navaratri, I wish everyone success in their learning and broadening of perspectives through an understanding of the various conspicuous information patterns that appear as floating clouds, transmuting in the light of this dynamic framework that connects the visible with the invisible, the material with the divine, and the individual with the universal.
